Lots of resorts claim this, but when you arrive to the St. Regis Punta Mita, you are truly transported. Your vehicle will approach the large Jurassic Park style gates and once your identity is confirmed, you begin the 5 mile drive to the front desk. By the time you exit your car, you’ll forget that you’re only an hour from Puerto Vallarta. The seclusion of this resort will make you feel a world away from everything, especially your stresses. Grab your welcome margarita and let’s explore this beautiful resort.

After you get escorted via golf cart (don’t spill your margarita) you’ll enter your beautiful room. The rooms at this resort are amongst my favorite anywhere. They are spacious and well designed. When you enter, to the right is your bathroom. The size will be the first thing that stands out to you. There are TWO sinks which always makes Mrs. Suitcase happy. The toilet is in it’s own room and can be closed while you do your business. It’s the little things. What’s not little is the shower! The shower area is partially sectioned off with a glass wall and also has a large soaking tub for you to relax and unwind. On top of that, there is an outdoor shower, which not only feels great, but is a great place to get all that sand off from the beach and not track it all over the room.

If you decide to go left instead, you will be greeted by the large king bed and tiled floors. The bed is extremely comfortable. Seriously, almost as comfy as my mattress at home. I slept like a baby. There is a desk if you need to get a little work done and a large closet to hang up all your linen shirts. It is Mexico after all. But, the real highlight of the room is the patio that gives you a great place to enjoy a meal, drink or just soak in the views of the beach.

If you’re looking to take the relaxation to the ultimate level, be sure to book a service at Remede Spa. Truly one of the best spa experiences I’ve had anywhere. There are sitting areas, soaking tubs and pools all over for you to relax before and after your services. For obvious reasons, I wasn’t able to get much video footage. However, I was allowed to get some quick video of the cabanas they have there. When you book them you are greeted with a bottle of champagne, a private soaking tub, showers and there is even a private room with a massage table. Perfect for a romantic couples massage. The cabana is quite large and this could even be great for a nice bachelorette weekend spa outing!

Now for my favorite part, FOOD!! Let’s start with the tacos. If you’re going to Mexico, chances are you’re a fan. Well, let me tell you, the tacos at Mita Mary Boat Bar and absolutely incredible. Best tacos I’ve had anywhere. In even better news, on Fridays, they have unlimited tacos and margaritas from 6-8pm. Make a reservation and don’t miss it!

Here is my ONE problem with the St. Regis Punta Mita. You ready? My first visit ever to Mexico was here. It is such a great resort, that I’m not sure I’ll ever stay anywhere else! Seriously, I have worked in hospitality for 20+ years and traveled most of my life. This place gets it. They deliver on the service and ensure that your experience is memorable. Totally worth the price of admission. If you are considering a stay in Mexico, don’t hesitate to book at the St. Regis Punta Mita.
