After being stuck in our apartment for 4 months straight, it was time for a change of scenery. After hours and hours of searching (by Mrs. Revpar) we found a beautiful house in Quechee, VT to spend some time and unwind.

Colonial house in Vermont

All the time spent searching was completely worth it! This gorgeous house has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and sits on 5 acres of land! If you’re looking for a country escape, you can hardly do better than this

The main level of the home has a dining room, living room, kitchen, den and access to the garage and the patio. Mrs. Revpar spent her worktime at the dining table, I chose the living room for the great light and views of the yard. When we weren’t working, you could find us on the patio. Garages aren’t too sexy, but be sure to stop into this one! The wood for the indoor fireplace is here, as well as golf clubs, a volleyball (which I used to play soccer) and badminton raquets. We used these to have our personal Wimbledon tournament

Who would you like to be sitting here with?

Maybe it’s because it was summer, or being up high in the mountains, but the sun stayed out pretty late! We had pretty good light until about 9pm almost every night and took advantage of all the great outdoor space this house has to offer. The master bedroom has a cute private patio which was great to enjoy a morning stretch and take in the views

The lower level has 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, washer + dryer and a lovely sitting area with working fireplace. Tons of room to bring the whole family!

Walking around the property was my favorite form of exercise for the week. The house sits on 5 acres, so there is plenty of space to get those steps in! The owners mowed out a couple walking trails, the longer one of which gave me about 1300 steps. A few laps and I was ready for a(nother) beer! Being up in the woods, we saw our fair share of wildlife! There are a few birdhouses around which attracted eastern bluebirds mainly. We saw a couple of turkeys, deer and actually a bear! (from a distance) The larger animals tended to come out at dusk. Be mindful! You are in the mountains.

As the house is part of the Quechee community, you have access to the country club at the bottom of the hill. Golf course, tennis, driving range, skiing and a pool can all be found there! There is a nominal fee, which the owners outline in the paperwork.

All in all, we LOVED Quechee and especially loved staying in this house! It is perfect for a quiet getaway with the family or a ski trip. It’s less than an hour to Killington from here. Check out the video below to see more of the inside of the house!
