Family Time

If you are one of the lucky ones to have a family that you love spending time with – I genuinely envy you.

I don’t have the same dynamic.

Unfortunately I have learned the hard way that family doesn’t always = everything.

When spending time with family becomes a consistent sacrifice of your emotional well-being I hope you find strength to politely decline the family functions.

Only dedicate your time to people and things that make you happy.

After all, most of our lives are spent doing things we don’t really want to do, your minimal personal time should not be spent performing yet another emotionally destructive chore.

Protect yourself and your mental state even if it means saying no to a family barbecue.

What about you? Do you like spending time with your family?
